Dedham Savings Community Foundation Supports Bellforge Arts Center

The Dedham Savings Community Foundation has donated to the Bellforge Arts Center. The grant funds will support the development of a regional multi-arts and outdoor recreation destination serving the MetroWest region.

The organization has secured a 99-year lease on two buildings in the center of the historic former State Hospital campus in Medfield, MA. The buildings will be renovated to create a performing arts, music, culture, and education center, with a flexible 300-seat performance venue, classrooms for music instruction and visual arts, artist studios, and rehearsal space. In the second phase of the development, it will also offer dance/movement studios; accommodations for artists-in-residence; a 150-seat black box theater; a community makerspace; and a culinary arts center with commercial kitchens for entrepreneurs, visiting chefs, and classes.

ABOUT BELLFORGE ARTs CENTER

The Bellforge Arts Center’s primary goal is to promote and provide availability of the arts and art education within the community, promote well-being, and cultivate an atmosphere of cooperation, community spirit, accessibility, and inclusiveness for underserved families in the MetroWest area. Upon its completion, the center will serve as a regional multi-arts center for diverse art forms and outdoor recreation, catering to the entire MetroWest region, encompassing Dedham, Needham, Norwood, Sharon, Walpole, Westwood, and other neighboring towns.
