Dedham Savings Community Foundation Supports Charles River Center

The Dedham Savings Community Foundation has donated to Charles River Center (CRC). The grant funds will support a pilot nutritional consultation and education program at five of CRC’s residential homes. The funds will allow CRC to provide weekly in-person training sessions on meal planning and safety for residents and staff, including cooking classes in partnership with Anderson Nutrition Services and Merrimack College’s Graduate Nutrition Program.
ABOUT CHARLES RIVER CENTER
The Charles River Center’s mission is to empower and support people with developmental disabilities by offering individualized opportunities to foster independence and community inclusion. CRC staffs 28 group homes, helps individuals find jobs in their communities, cares for the most medically complex, and provides diverse programs and activities for all ages. Services and programs are currently offered to over 950 children and adults from the Boston MetroWest area.
ABOUT DEDHAM SAVINGS COMMUNITY FOUNDATION
The Dedham Savings Community Foundation was formed by Dedham Savings for the purpose of funding requests from community organizations which provide services to the communities that they serve. These communities generally, but not exclusively, include Dedham, Needham, Norwood, Sharon, South Boston, Walpole, and Westwood. Typical requests are usually received from such organizations as schools, libraries, family service organizations and non-profit organizations.
The Trustees of the Foundation will accept grant requests from community organizations and make awards twice a year. Organizations wishing to request funding from the Foundation may apply online on our Community Giving Page.
