Dedham Savings Community Foundation Supports Dedham-Westwood Water District

The Dedham Savings Community Foundation has made a grant to the Dedham-Westwood Water District. Grant funds will be used to purchase a solar-powered message board. Completely mobile and run via solar energy, the mobile message board will be used to communicate important project or emergency information to customers and the community. The visual message board will also provide urgent safety updates and communicate storm warning preparedness messages to the community. 

ABOUT DEDHAM-WESTWOOD WATER DISTRICT

The Dedham Water Company was founded by an act of incorporation through the Legislature in 1876, recognizing a need for a public water supply for the townspeople of Dedham. Today, the Dedham-Westwood Water District supplies over 13,000 service connections to approximately 40,000 people in the Dedham and Westwood communities.

ABOUT DEDHAM SAVINGS COMMUNITY FOUNDATION

The Dedham Savings Community Foundation is a privately funded foundation created by Dedham Savings to provide financial support to charitable organizations that serve disadvantaged populations within the Bank’s community reinvestment area. These communities include Dedham, Needham, Norwood, Sharon, South Boston, Walpole, Westwood, and contiguous areas.  Typical requests are received from schools, libraries, family service organizations and non-profit organizations.  The Trustees of the Foundation accept grant requests from community organizations and make awards twice per year.
