Dedham Savings Community Foundation Supports Neighborworks Housing Solutions
The Dedham Savings Community Foundation has awarded a grant to NeighborWorks Housing Solutions. Grant funds will be used to help to purchase furnishings, seating, umbrellas, a stage area, lighting, outdoor decor, storage and fencing to secure an outdoor community event space for local residents to engage in outdoor multicultural activities. The outdoor event space is maintained and operated by Neighborworks Housing Solutions and will be made available to the existing low- and moderate-income families living at the new Sycamore on Main development in Brockton, MA.

NeighborWorks Housing Solutions provides community assistance for locating and maintaining safe, affordable, high-quality housing and to help grow financial skills and resources for individuals and families in need. They provide many helpful services that include rental assistance; emergency financial help; shelter and homelessness prevention; first-time homebuyer education and counseling; financial coaching; foreclosure prevention; affordable residential and small business loans; and construction and management of high-quality rental housing across Southern Massachusetts. The Dedham Savings Community Foundation is a privately funded foundation created by Dedham Savings to provide financial support to charitable organizations that serve disadvantaged populations within the Bank’s community reinvestment area.
These communities include Dedham, Needham, Norwood, Sharon, South Boston, Walpole, Westwood, and contiguous areas. Typical requests are received from schools, libraries, family service organizations and non-profit organizations. The Trustees of the Foundation accept grant requests from community organizations and make awards twice per year.
