The Dedham Savings Community Foundation has donated to the Neponset River Watershed Association. Grant funds will be used for multiple initiatives, including: updating a Paddler’s Guide that highlights paddling routes, access to the river, parks, and trails along the Neponset mainstream and many of its tributaries; upgrading computer technology to provide network storage for backup support and cloud-based resources for the organization’s IT infrastructure; and enhancing their educational and advocacy efforts through updated visual tools and presentation equipment.

Restore the natural resources of the Neponset River, its tributaries, and surrounding watershed lands for the benefit of present and future generations. The Neponset River Watershed includes the 29-mile-long Neponset River, which starts in Foxborough, near Gillette Stadium, and ends in Dorchester/Quincy. The Dedham Savings Community Foundation was formed by Dedham Savings for the purpose of funding requests from community organizations which provide services to the communities that they serve. These communities generally, but not exclusively, include Dedham, Needham, Norwood, Sharon, South Boston, Walpole, and Westwood. Typical requests are usually received from such organizations as schools, libraries, family service organizations and non-profit organizations. The Trustees of the Foundation will accept grant requests from community organizations and make awards twice a year.
