Dedham Savings Community Foundation Supports Plugged In Band

The Dedham Savings Community Foundation has donated $5,000 to Plugged In Band. The grant will be used to fund Scholarship and Inclusion programs to ensure all students can participate in their music classes. Plugged In has a special commitment to make their tuition-based programs accessible to all students, specifically those in underserved populations, regardless of their ability to pay or the additional costs associated with accommodating students with special needs.

ABOUT PLUGGED IN BAND

Plugged In is a non-profit music program committed to creating an inclusive, loving, and diverse community empowered to change the world. Its dual focus is to give musicians a venue through which they can channel their creativity, learn to work in a group, and improve their music skills while learning about the value and importance of social activism. In addition to the Plugged In benefit concert series, Plugged In performs at Harvard Square, local street fairs, local chamber of commerce events, the Needham Martin Luther King, Jr Day Celebration, Needham Fourth of July Parade, and many other local events.

ABOUT DEDHAM SAVINGS COMMUNITY FOUNDATION

The Dedham Savings Community Foundation is a privately funded foundation created by Dedham Savings in 2000 to provide financial support to charitable organizations that serve disadvantaged populations within the Bank’s community reinvestment area. These communities include Dedham, Needham, Norwood, Sharon, South Boston, Walpole, and Westwood and contiguous areas.  Typical requests are received from schools, libraries, family service organizations and non-profit organizations.  The Trustees of the Foundation accept grant requests from community organizations and make awards twice per year.
