Dedham Savings Community Foundation Supports Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation

The Dedham Savings Community Foundation has donated $25,000 to the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation. The grant will support the Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer™ Frozen 5k event, hosted by The Skating Club of Boston.

This special event raised funds for the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation and its mission to support cancer research, and education. Half of all funds raised will go directly to two of Boston’s own world-class medical institutions, Mass General Brigham, and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

ABOUT SCOTT HAMILTON CARES FOUNDATION

The Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation was founded in 2014 by retired American figure skater and Olympic gold medalist, Scott Hamilton. Dedicated to changing the future of cancer by funding advanced, innovative research that treats the cancer while sparing the patient.

CARES stands for Cancer Alliance for Research Education and Survivorship. Seeking to be a neutral convener between organizations, researchers, academic scientists, drug developers and others to accelerate the advancement of less toxic treatments for isolated cancers and tumors.
