Dedham Savings Community Foundation Supports South Shore Habitat for Humanity
The Dedham Savings Community Foundation has donated $10,000 to South Shore Habitat for Humanity. The grant funds will be used to support the building of an affordable home for a local family in need.
ABOUT SOUTH SHORE HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
Since 1986, South Shore Habitat for Humanity has worked alongside family partners and thousands of volunteers to build 63 homes in local communities, to provide shelter, stability, and self-reliance for 114 adults and 213 children. Working in partnership with 32 towns and cities, the organization builds affordable homes for low to moderate-income families. Selected families help build their homes side-by-side with hundreds of volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage.
ABOUT DEDHAM SAVINGS COMMUNITY FOUNDATION
The Dedham Savings Community Foundation was formed by Dedham Savings for the purpose of funding requests from community organizations which provide services to the communities that they serve. These communities generally, but not exclusively, include Dedham, Needham, Norwood, Sharon, South Boston, Walpole, and Westwood. Typical requests are usually received from such organizations as schools, libraries, family service organizations and non-profit organizations. The Trustees of the Foundation will accept grant requests from community organizations and make awards twice a year. Organizations wishing to request funding from the Foundation may apply online at www.dedhamsavings.com/community.
