Dedham Savings’ Jose Camacho Graduates from New England School for Financial Studies

Jose Camacho, Assistant Vice President, Commercial Lending has graduated from the New England School for Financial Studies (NEFS), according to an announcement by Douglas Shaw Executive Vice President, Senior Lending Officer at Dedham Savings.

Noted Shaw, “Dedham Savings will greatly benefit from the education Jose received through The New England School for Financial Studies. Not only has he gained tools and insights needed to excel in today’s banking industry, but he has also developed a strong peer network for future collaboration. We’re extremely proud of Jose’s accomplishments and appreciate his ongoing commitment to Dedham Savings.”

The New England School for Financial Studies is comprised of two one-week resident sessions that provide students with 135 hours of classroom instruction conducted by distinguished faculty members chosen for their expertise in both the academic and business worlds. Classes combine lectures with case studies to involve participants actively in the process of research, analysis and creative planning. Between sessions, students complete five assigned independent study projects that focus on their bank and build on the first week’s instruction to prepare them for more advanced training during the second-year resident session. The course culminates in a comprehensive computerized simulation which challenges students to assume senior management responsibilities. The New England School of Finance Program provides professional growth opportunities to employees of member banks and those in the financial services industry. The two-year intensive program curriculum focuses on topics such as financial management, technology, lending, marketing, and other strategic industry issues.

As Assistant Vice President, Commercial Lending, Camacho is responsible for generating new commercial loans, sourcing and evaluating creditworthiness for loan closings, maintaining current financial information for commercial clients, and monitoring loan performance in overseeing his commercial loan portfolio. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Cambridge College and has completed several Massachusetts Banker’s Association training and certification programs, including: Financial Statement Analysis, Credit Risk Fundamentals, and the Massachusetts Bankers School of Commercial Lending. In the community, Camacho volunteers on the Neponset River Regional Chamber’s young professional subcommittee, organizing quarterly networking events on behalf of the Chamber community, and serves as an Ambassador of the Metro South Chamber of Commerce. He also participates in Meals on Wheels, Mass Bankers Association Career Fairs, and is a member of the Bank’s DEI Committee.
