Go Green
Go Green Community Involvement

Investing in our community

When it comes to making a difference in our community, we know that we can't do it alone. That's why we've joined with a variety of organizations to spread the word about sustainability and environmental responsibility, and why we are working to create simple and effective ways that others can get involved.

Celebrate Earth Day with Us!

Mass Save and Next Step Living Branch Events

Join us as we host Mass Save and Next Step Living informational tables at our branches throughout the year. We have also hosted an informational event where people learned how to reduce energy costs for their home and/or business from the experts! We hope to host more events like this in the future.

Tips on Going Green

In addition to our own green programs, we have made contributions to several environmentally-focused community groups, including:

  • Fairbanks Garden Club
  • Needham Community Farm
  • Moose Hill Farm
  • Dedham Farmers' Market
  • Dedham Civic Pride
  • Town of Norwood, Flower Planting Committee
  • Needham Women's Club / Garden Tour
  • Neponset River Watershed Association

Through the Dedham Institution for Savings Charitable Foundation , we have directly assisted non-profit organizations throughout Dedham, Westwood, Norwood, Walpole, Needham, Sharon, and surrounding towns. Monetary grants give these groups the ability to secure the resources they need to continue their essential work in the community. Grant recipients include:

  • Beech Tree Park
  • Hale Reservation
  • Fairbanks Garden Club
  • Green Needham Collaborative
  • High Rock Garden Club
  • Mass Audobon Society / Moose Hill
  • Needham Community Farm
  • Sharon Friends of Conservation, Inc.
  • Sheehan School Outdoor Learning Center

Our community involvement also extends to supporting the Needham Park and Recreation Commission, Dedham Park and Recreation, and The Friends of Francis William Bird Park.

Dedham Savings' "Green Volunteers" also spend time volunteering out in the community. We have collaborated with organizations such as The Friend of the Blue Hills, Hale Reservations and Needham Community Farm. We are always looking for ways to expand our volunteer efforts.
